The challenge

A SaaS platform has to serve current customers while continuing to change. Product priorities, customer commitments, release reliability, and the long-term architecture all compete for the same engineering capacity.

My work at MealTrack connects those responsibilities rather than treating the roadmap and the technical platform as separate conversations.

My role

As CTO and Product Owner, I balance product direction, architecture, customer commitments, team leadership, and hands-on technical oversight.

I led a cross-functional team of approximately 10 through modernization of a legacy platform into a product backed by React, GraphQL, Azure, and SQL Server.

Approach and architecture

The modernization work supported a multi-tenant SaaS ecommerce platform. It combined frontend development, an API layer, cloud infrastructure, and a SQL Server data foundation.

The goal was to align the platform with customer growth and business priorities while maintaining a sustainable delivery process. Technical scope and product commitments needed to be considered together.

Outcomes

My documented work includes improvements to release cadence, operational reliability, scalability, white-label capability, and platform governance.

This overview omits internal diagrams, customer-specific information, and performance figures that are not supported by public evidence.

What this work illustrates

Platform leadership is partly architecture and partly judgment. A technical roadmap has to account for what customers need now, what the business can support, and what the team can responsibly deliver next.

Selected outcomes

  • Modernized a legacy platform with a cross-functional team of approximately 10.
  • Strengthened release cadence, operational reliability, scalability, and white-label capability.
